Arrival at Yogyakarta International airport of Yogyakarta. Welcome to Yogyakarta, the capital of the Special Territory of Indonesia in Java. Meet and greet at the airport. Direct visit to Prambanan temple, Java’s most interesting Hindu shrine of the 9th century, regarded as one of the most beautiful Hindu’s temples in the world and known as Roro Jonggrang temple. This temple, represents the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva with a bas-relief depicting the famous Ramayana story. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at Yogyakarta.
Morning Royal City tour. First passing through Old Town to see a historical and cultural highlight, colonial buildings and the famous Malioboro street a great long-colorful bazaar. Then stroll at central market Beringharjo can be a fascinating and adventurous stop. This traditional market is a lively place, where thousands of people, both sellers, and buyers alike flock daily and has been a vital part of the city’s economy since 1758. Next explore within the fortress walls, visit Sultan Palace or Kraton where the Royal family lives and Water Castle ruin, pools, arches and underground passage of the former pleasure garden of the Royal family. Afterward seeing the beauty of famous traditional batik handicrafts works and experience a short course of Batik learn directly from a local craftsman and create your own Batik. Our highlights tours discover the magnificent Borobudur temple, a UNESCO world heritage monument built during the 8th century AD. Stroll through Borobudur's ten terraces and glance at its magnificent bas-reliefs and statues, which were buried under layers of volcanic ash for over ten centuries, and also visit Mendut and Pawon temples.
Leaving Yogyakarta to Solo, the second city of the Javanese cultural heartland. Visit the 18th century Royal Mangkunegaran Palace, a palace that blends European elegance with Javanese architectural style and with its fascinating display of gold-plated dance ornaments, jewelry, and wooden mask and the Triwindu flea market, famous for the old and antique stuff that will spoil your desire of art. Many kinds of souvenirs and works of art especially from Old Java can be found.
Continue the journey drive along the east side via highway through Java’s heartland, passing endless teak forest and lush countryside to Bromo. Overnight at Bromo.
Early morning drive by jeep to reach the viewpoint on Mt Penanjakan peak with some of the best views of Mt Bromo and its neighbor, and one of the most spectacular sunrise. It's certainly worth it as you see the first rays of sun spill over the horizon and light up this prehistoric scene. Then continue to Mt Bromo by horseback riding, crossing the sea of sand, and climbing up to view from the crest of it. Admire the magnificent panorama over its caldera from over 2,700 m. After enjoying Bromo, back to the hotel. Transfer to Juanda international airport of Surabaya for departure.
